معرفی
dr hab. inż. arch. Robert Hirsch is an Associate Professor at the Gdańsk University of Technology's Department of History of Architecture and Conservation of Monuments within the Faculty of Architecture. His work focuses on cultural heritage conservation, modernist architecture history, and urban preservation strategies, particularly in Gdynia and Gdańsk. He has extensively studied Gdynia’s modernist architectural legacy, including its early 20th-century city center nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status.
Research interests include: preservation of modernist buildings and urban complexes, adaptive reuse of historic structures, and the role of local governance in heritage management. His studies often blend architectural analysis with historical documentation, as seen in investigations of Wisłoujście Fortress fortifications and Gdynia’s post-war plasterwork techniques.
Publications highlight themes like community-based heritage management, modernist urban planning, and material conservation. Notable works include analyses of Gdynia’s modernist center and case studies of fortification preservation in Wisłoujście. He has contributed to UNESCO nomination dossiers and developed management plans for historic sites.
Teaching focuses on integrating digital tools (e.g., VR) into architectural conservation education. His work bridges academic research with practical heritage management, influencing policies and restoration practices in Poland's Baltic region.
