Michał J. Wójcik is an Associate Professor affiliated with New College at the University of Oxford. He works within the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Computational Neuroscience and Machine Learning.
His research focuses on applying machine-learning frameworks to understand how biological circuits generate higher cognition, particularly examining abstraction and generalization processes. He uses human electroencephalography (EEG) and high-resolution neural population recordings from non-human primates to track changes in neural activity during learning.
Michał is a member of Rui Ponte Costa's Research Group. His recent work explores cortical task representations and their relationship to noise and metabolic cost.
