Michał Gacek

Dr. Michał Gacek is affiliated with the Department of Psychoprophylaxis and Psychotherapy at the Faculty of Philosophy of Jagiellonian University. He holds a PhD in psychology (2013) and specializes in the psychological aspects of disability, developmental disorders, personality development, and the psychology of horror. His research focuses on individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, including decision-making processes, psychosocial adjustment, and the impact of interventions like neurofeedback training.

He has served as a psychologist at a school for youth with intellectual disabilities and currently leads projects such as 'Specific personality traits of students with intellectual disabilities and autism in special and integrated schools' (2024–2025). Additional roles include representing the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy for education quality evaluation and advising the Ministry of Education on teacher development.

His work includes studies on anxiety during the pandemic, learned helplessness in disability contexts, and the validation of psychological instruments like the Self-Perception Profile for Children.
