Michał Arkadiusz Iwanek

Michał Arkadiusz Iwanek is a Lecturer at the Department of Jazz and Popular Music within the Faculty of Arts at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS). He concurrently teaches piano at the T. Szeligowski Music School in Lublin. His academic foundation includes a first-degree in Artistic Education from UMCS and a second-degree from the Jazz and Popular Music Faculty of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where he specialized in jazz piano under Wojciech Niedziela and Łukasz Ojdana.

Iwanek's artistic practice spans composition, arrangement, production, and performance across multiple genres. Primary research domains include:

• Jazz and contemporary popular music idioms
• Compositional techniques for theater and multimedia
• Musical arrangement methodologies
• Improvisational pedagogy
• Music production workflows

Significant creative works include musical direction for Anna Michałowska's 2017 album Snów Pejzaże, piano performance on Mariusz Bogdanowicz's 2016 album Przy Tobie, original scores for theater productions including Wesele Dawida (2013) and Moira (2014), and large-scale compositions for the 2016 World Youth Days opening ceremony. He has arranged historical works by Stanisław Moniuszko and Jan of Lublin for contemporary performances.

Collaborative engagements feature prominent Polish artists including Mietek Jurecki, Marek Raduli, Majka Jeżowska, Piotr and Wojtek Cugowski, Dariusz Tokarzewski (VOX), and international musician Anthony Tullo (Canada).
