Michalis Petrides is an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Nicosia (UNiC), within the School of Life and Health Sciences. He has been affiliated with UNiC since 2014 and has held roles including Coordinator of the Pharmacy Technicians Diploma (2015–2017) and lecturer in Pharmacy Practice at the University of Hertfordshire (2015–2016). He is a Member of the Senate and contributed to the Pharmacy Programme's 2017 Gold in Excellence Award for pioneering Pharmacy OSCEs in Greek-speaking programs.
Education: BSc in Pharmacy (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 2002) and MSc in Pharmaceutical Technology (2005), supported by scholarships from Greek State Scholarships Foundation and OP 'Education'. Professional experience includes roles as Hospital Pharmacist (2013–2014), Formulation Scientist at Remedica Ltd. (2011–2013), Managing Director of wholesale drugstores in Greece (2006–2011), and Community Pharmacist (2002–2006).
Research focuses on Pharmaceutical Technology, Compounding, Pharmacy Practice, and Pharmacoepidemiology. Notable contributions include studies on pharmacist roles in epilepsy care, OTC drug usage, and healthcare infrastructure planning. Awards include the 2017 Gold in Excellence Award and academic scholarships for exceptional performance.
His work bridges clinical pharmacy practice and education, emphasizing community pharmacist roles in healthcare delivery and public health initiatives. Current activities involve advancing pharmacy-led services and addressing medication safety through research and policy advocacy.
