University of Cambridgeمعرفی
Dr. Michal Gath-Morad is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture, University of Cambridge, where she leads the Cambridge Cognitive Architecture research group. She combines cognitive neuroscience and architecture to develop evidence-based design solutions, particularly for healthcare environments. Her research spans spatial cognition, inclusive design, and design communication.
Dr. Gath-Morad holds a B.Arch. and M.Sc. (summa cum laude), and a Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from ETH Zurich. She is affiliated with the Space Syntax Lab at UCL and serves as a visiting lecturer at ETH Zurich’s Chair of Cognitive Science.
- Research Focus: Cognitive neuroscience in architecture, spatial cognition, biophilic design, wayfinding, and VR-based experimentation.
- Methodology: Integrates behavioral data, computational modeling, and immersive technologies to optimize architectural outcomes.
Her recent publications emphasize human-centric design, smart urban systems, and reproducible research frameworks. She also contributes to pedagogical tools like the DesignMind Toolkit, which bridges cognition and architectural practice.
Collaborations include the Space Syntax Lab and ETH Zurich, focusing on transdisciplinary approaches to future cities and human-building interaction. Her work aims to enhance architectural legibility, occupant well-being, and sustainable urban design through empirical insights.
