Michaela Preßnig

Mag.Dr. Michaela Preßnig is a researcher at the Institute of Environmental Biotechnology within the Department of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). Her work focuses on EU-funded projects related to environmental biotechnology, including bioremediation, sustainable materials development, and waste recycling technologies. She leads initiatives such as B3PO (Better bio-based polymer network), UPCYCLE (Sustainable Plastic Biorefinery), and OPTIMINER (Sustainable utilization of Critical Raw Materials in mining). Her research addresses circular economy principles, advanced recycling of organic waste, and biocatalytic solutions for environmental challenges.
