Michaela Kreyenfeld is a Professor of Sociology at the Hertie School, specializing in family sociology and demography. Her research focuses on family dynamics, social policy, and gender disparities. She previously led the Life Course, Social Policy and the Family research group at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (2016). She holds key roles including membership in the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences, advisory positions at German Institute for Population Research (BiB) and the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), and leadership of the 10th German Family Report commission.
