Michaela Huber

Michaela Huber is a UAS Lecturer for Teaching and Practice at the Department of Social Sciences, Steyr University of Applied Sciences. Her roles include coordinating internships, developing practical teaching methodologies, and leading research projects on participatory methods in caregiving contexts. She is certified as a Family Council Coordinator and Case Manager (DGCC), and actively contributes to professional networks such as FAPARE (SozAktiv) and the Austrian Society for Social Work's Participation and Empowerment Working Group. Her work spans social pedagogy, healthcare rehabilitation, and interprofessional education.

Her research focuses on evaluating the Family Council method in caring contexts, interprofessional learning, and improving professional development in social work education. She has led projects like INPRO (Interprofessionalism in Action) and CareRäte, exploring innovative approaches to family-centered care and collaborative practice. Her teaching spans BA/MA programs in Social Work and Social Pedagogy.

Publications highlight methodological innovations in participatory practices, curriculum design, and case studies demonstrating the effectiveness of Family Council approaches in dementia care, aging populations, and psychiatric rehabilitation.
