Michael Zoratti is a Part-Time Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact within McMaster University's Faculty of Health Sciences. His academic career is deeply rooted at McMaster, where he completed both his M.Sc. (2014) and Ph.D. (2022).
Dr. Zoratti's research spans several critical areas in evidence-based medicine and health technology assessment. His primary research interests include systematic reviews and meta-analyses methodology, health utility values research, oncology outcomes, and clinical trial design. He has made significant contributions to the development of the Health Utility Application Tool (HAT) and the Health Utility Book (HUB), which aim to standardize the use of health state utility values in cost-utility analyses. His work frequently addresses methodological challenges in network meta-analysis and indirect treatment comparisons, with particular applications in oncology including multiple myeloma, mantle cell lymphoma, and acute myeloid leukemia.
His scholarly output demonstrates a strong focus on improving evidence synthesis methods and their application in health technology assessment. Recent publications highlight his work on survival extrapolation methodology, response assessment timing in clinical trials, and the development of systematic approaches to health utility value identification and appraisal.
Dr. Zoratti's research has garnered significant attention, with his work being referenced across multiple platforms including news outlets, social media, policy documents, clinical guidelines, and academic literature as evidenced by Mendeley reader counts and citation patterns.
