Michael Wheaton is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Yeshiva University's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. He holds an MA and PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed clinical psychology internship training in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to joining Ferkauf, Dr. Wheaton was a postdoctoral clinical researcher in the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and is licensed as a psychologist in New York State.
His research focuses on psychopathology and treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and OCD-related disorders, with emphasis on hoarding disorder. His program explores cognitive, behavioral, and neurobiological factors contributing to these conditions.
