Michael U. Hensel

Michael U. Hensel is a Professor (part-time) at Southeast University's Architecture Internationalization Demonstration School while simultaneously heading the research department for Digital Architecture and Planning at Vienna University of Technology. He serves on the board of the interfaculty Centre for Geometry and Computational Design and Centre for Computational Complex Systems at TU Vienna.

His pioneering work operates at the critical intersection of:

• Urban regeneration and ecological frameworks
• Computational complexity and data-driven design
• Sustainable development strategies
• Digital fabrication and environmental integration

Hensel co-founded OCEAN Architecture | Environment and the experimental OCEAN net design network. As founding steering board member of LamoLab Research Centre, he drives transdisciplinary environmental research while editing the Springer Nature Designing Environments book series and chairing international Architecture and Environment symposia.
