Michael Tu

Michael Tu is a Professor of Computer Information Technology and Director of the Center for Cybersecurity at Purdue University Northwest. His research focuses on cybersecurity, digital forensics, and cyber-physical system security.

Tu's expertise encompasses multiple cybersecurity domains including ethical hacking, digital forensics, and secure distributed systems. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers and developed curriculum for cybersecurity certification programs. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and National Security Agency.

Tu leads initiatives to address the cybersecurity workforce shortage, including developing virtual lab programs for high school students and creating AI-Cybersecurity certification programs for transitioning military personnel through a $9.7 million NSA grant.

He holds multiple industry certifications including CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker, and AccessData Computer Examiner.
