Michael Tsimplis

Michael Tsimplis is a Professor at the Law School of City University of Hong Kong since 2018. He holds a visiting position at the National University of Singapore (NUS) from 14 August 2023 to 1 September 2023. His research focuses on maritime, marine, commercial, and environmental law, alongside interdisciplinary work in oceanography and environmental science. He has contributed to international projects on sea level rise and legal frameworks for marine environments.

He has taught courses such as Admiralty Law, Energy and Environment Law, and Legal Concepts in the Marine Environment across global academic and professional programs. His expertise spans legal enforcement mechanisms, maritime commerce, and environmental governance. He has also advised on academic quality assurance and reviewed research proposals for national/international bodies.
