Michael T. Heaney is a Lecturer in Politics and Research Methods at the University of Glasgow's School of Social and Political Sciences, specializing in how social networks, movements, and political parties influence policy and organizational dynamics. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and has held faculty roles at the University of Michigan and University of Florida, alongside postdoctoral fellowships at Yale University and research fellowships at Glasgow. His research focuses on social movements, interest groups, and political parties, with notable works including Party in the Street (Cambridge, 2015) and the documentary The Activists (2017). He has received grants from the Russell Sage Foundation and National Science Foundation, among others.
Research Interests: Social Networks Analysis, Political Parties, Interest Group Politics, Protest Mobilization, Policy Outcomes. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical analysis, emphasizing methodological pluralism.
