معرفی
Michael T. Chin is a Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine and currently serves as Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Tufts University. He is also the Director of the Medical Scientist Training Program and Research Director of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Center at Tufts Medical Center. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases, including HCM, heart failure, and epigenetic effects of air pollution.
- MD and PhD in Biochemistry from University of Rochester
- Residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital
- Postdoctoral and fellowship training at National Institute on Aging and Brigham and Women’s Hospital
Dr. Chin’s research spans genetic pathways in hypertrophy and fibrosis, molecular cardiology, and epigenetic mechanisms linking environmental stressors to cardiac dysfunction. As a physician-scientist, he integrates clinical insights with basic science to explore novel treatment paradigms.
His career is marked by sustained NIH funding for over 25 years and leadership roles in academic administration. Dr. Chin is also a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and serves on editorial boards for Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine and International Journal of Molecular Sciences. In his role as Research Director of the HCM Center, he investigates electrical instability in cardiomyopathy, while leading the Molecular Cardiology Research Institute (MCRI) to address genetic and environmental causes of heart failure.
