Dr. Michael Sun is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at The Citadel, located within the School of Humanities & Social Sciences. He joined The Citadel in 2018 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to his current rank. Prior to this, he held positions as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an adjunct assistant professor at the National Defense University of Taiwan. He is a retired colonel from the Taiwanese army. His research focuses on East Asian security dynamics, U.S.-China relations, and U.S. security policy in Asia. He teaches courses on East Asian Affairs and International Politics.
