Michael Stauffer is a Lecturer at the N. P. Loomba Department of Management, Zicklin School of Business, The City University of New York (CUNY), where he has taught business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and environmental sustainability since 2014 as a full-time tenured faculty member. He previously served as an adjunct lecturer at Touro College's graduate division and taught courses such as Management and Society and Sustainable Business: Perspectives, Theory & Practice.

Stauffer's research and professional work focus on the intersection of business and society, emphasizing stakeholder engagement, ethical corporate strategy, and sustainability. He has contributed to reports and seminars on telecommunications policy, environmental responsibility, and social impact, including a nationally recognized 1992 report on New York State's economic development via universal internet access.
His scientific honors include the President’s Award from New York Telephone Company (1992) and inclusion in the Who's Who in America (50th Edition, 1996). At Baruch, he has participated in curriculum committees, managed the MBA Leadership Certificate program, and coordinated a new Sustainability Major.
Stauffer's career spans academia and industry, including roles as Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Verizon (retired 2003) and leadership positions in Citibank's External Issues Unit during the Apartheid era. He also co-developed the Citicorp issues management model and presented it at the Academy of Management.
