Michael Shields is a Professor at the Centre for Health Economics, Monash University. His research focuses on applied health and labor economics, with emphasis on socioeconomic determinants of health, mental health dynamics, and wellbeing. He holds roles as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Science in Australia, Professorial Fellow at the Melbourne Institute, and Research Fellow at the IZA.
