Michael Shanks is an Adjunct Professor of Guitar at the School of Music, Sam Houston State University, since 2023. A versatile international touring guitarist, music producer, and singer-songwriter from Houston, Texas, he has performed across genres (pop, jazz, rock, Latin) in venues ranging from Beijing concert halls to Buenos Aires cafes. He specializes in music history and contemporary performance while maintaining an active career producing award-winning music at Studio Shanks in Houston.
