Michael Ryan

Michael Ryan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Sciences at the University of Limerick. His research bridges microbiology, molecular biology, and environmental science, focusing on antimicrobial resistance, waterborne pathogens, and bacterial evolution.

His academic qualifications include a PhD in Genotypic and Phenotypic Analysis of Ralstonia pickettii (awarded September 2009) and a Bachelor’s degree (awarded September 2004). Current research explores mobile genetic elements, protein disorder in antibiotic resistance, and microbial contamination in groundwater systems.
