Michael Rood is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of Field Education in the Social Work Department at Nazareth College. With 30 years of professional experience, he has worked as a case manager, program administrator, and served seven years at the Veterans Administration assisting homeless veterans. He currently serves as Monroe County Homeless Services Network Chair and leads The Salvation Army's Finger Lakes Region Social Services as former Regional Director.
His teaching focuses on homelessness, poverty's societal impacts, and micro/macro-level systemic change strategies. Rood actively mentors MSW students through field instruction and integrates practical experience with academic theory.
