Michael Palmer

Michael Palmer is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of New Brunswick (Fredericton) and Director of the Certificate in Applied Behaviour Analysis (C-ABA) Program. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Experimental Psychology from Central Michigan University and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). His prior clinical experience includes roles as a behavior interventionist and supervisor at the Central Autism Treatment Center.

Palmer's research focuses on:

• Improving quality of life for employees and individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
• Critical analysis of behaviour science principles
• Advancing compassionate, neuro-affirming practices in ABA

His recent publications (2023-2019) span organizational behaviour management, ethical guidelines, and clinical methodologies, reflecting a strong emphasis on practical applications in ABA and interdisciplinary integration.

He advocates for regional ABA standards through leadership in the Atlantic Provinces Association for Behaviour Analysis.
