Michael P. Abraham is a Professor in the Music Production and Engineering (MP&E) department at Berklee College of Music, where he contributes to shaping the next generation of audio professionals. His unique blend of musical artistry and engineering expertise informs his teaching philosophy and curriculum development.
Abraham emphasizes the importance of integrating musical training, engineering theory, and hands-on studio experience. He is also an active saxophonist, maintaining a strong connection to performance.
Abraham received his education at Berklee on a scholarship, although the MP&E department did not exist at the time. His passion for the technical aspects of recording led him to pursue electrical engineering, always centered on music applications. He values Berklee’s musician-first approach, noting that MP&E students are trained as musicians first, which he sees as essential to their success.
