Michael Olabisi is a tenure-stream Assistant Professor at Michigan State University, affiliated with both the Department of Community Sustainability (CSUS) and the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics (AFRE). He is also associated with the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research (IPPSR) at MSU.

Olabisi’s research focuses on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through international trade, addressing barriers in low-income economies. His work spans Economic Development, International Trade, Development Economics, and Energy Economics, emphasizing trade policy, food security, and renewable energy financing in Africa.
His recent publications highlight trends in trade policy, export diversification, and energy challenges in African economies. Key topics include time-sensitive trade agreements (AfCFTA), renewable energy financing gaps in Africa, and the role of trade costs in economic development.
Olabisi teaches courses such as CSUS 215 - International Development and Sustainability and CSUS 824 - Sustainable Development Related Work. He has received research support from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER).
