Michael Odelius

Michael Odelius is a theoretical chemical physicist at the Department of Physics, Stockholm University, and serves as a LINXS Fellow within the New Materials Working Group 2 focusing on Charge Transfer Materials.

His research spans theoretical chemistry, quantum chemistry, and molecular dynamics with applications in solar energy materials and spectroscopy. He employs quantum chemical calculations to investigate electronic structure and chemical bonding in solar cell materials and liquid solutions, specializing in X-ray spectral interpretation. His methodology integrates ab initio molecular dynamics with multi-configurational spectrum simulations to analyze photoinduced processes in solution, with particular emphasis on hydrogen bonding networks and excited state dynamics.

As a LINXS Fellow, Odelius contributes to bridging theoretical modeling with experimental characterization of sustainable energy materials through the institute's collaborative framework.
