Michael N Goddard is Reader in Film and Screen Media at Goldsmiths, University of London, researching transnational cinema, media archaeology, and audiovisual culture. He directs the Screen Studies Group and participates in the Digital Culture Unit research center.
Research explores:

- European and transnational cinema studies
- Media archaeology approaches to sound and image
- Post-punk and industrial music cultures
Publications examine media temporalities, guerrilla communication tactics, and immersive technologies. Recent work analyzes time representation across media forms and the legacy of radical media practices.
Major funded projects include the CAPES/Science Without Borders fellowship for 'Social Media Mapping of Popular Music Scenes' involving international research collaborations.
