Michael Moore is a Reader in Fine & Applied Arts Ceramics at the Belfast School of Art, Ulster University. He coordinates undergraduate programs in Product Design, previously directing Ceramics, Jewellery, and Silversmithing courses. As Creative Ecologies Research Cluster Leader, his practice investigates the handmade object through traditional/contemporary processes, emphasizing location, well-being, and architectural connections.

- MA in 20th Century Irish Ceramic Art, National College of Art and Design, Ireland (2002)
Research Focus: Blends studio practice with theoretical exploration of Irish craft history, geographic influences on creativity, and ceramic art's societal role. Recent projects examine architecture-craft intersections and community-based ceramic initiatives.
Awards & Recognition:
- Permanent collections in 15+ international institutions including National Museum of Ireland and Australian National University
- Residencies at Archie Bray Foundation (USA), Banff Centre (Canada), and Fuping Ceramics Studios (China)
- Co-curated 'The Shadow of Sodeisha' (National Museum of Ireland)
Leadership: Peer Mentor for Design Crafts Council of Ireland, External Examiner (GMIT Galway), and former Council Member/Honorary Treasurer of the International Academy of Ceramics.
