Michael Moon

Michael Moon is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream at the University of Toronto in the Department of Statistical Sciences. He focuses on Data Science, Statistics Education, and Statistics Communication within social science contexts.

Research Interests center on multiverse analysis techniques, opioid epidemic modeling, and demographic disparities in life expectancy. His mverse R package provides pedagogical tools for exploratory statistical workflows, while his opioid research examines transition probabilities across usage stages. The multistate life tables project investigates parental loss impacts on population health metrics.

Technical Expertise spans R software development (tidyverse-style syntax), D3.js data visualization, and statistical modeling frameworks.
