Michael Lear-Olimpi is an Assistant Professor of Communications at Central Penn College. He teaches courses such as Introduction to Human Communication, Digital Photography and Image Editing, Media Writing, Journalism I, Writing for Public Relations, Media Ethics, Communications Law, Feature Writing, Public Affairs Reporting, and Photojournalism. A veteran journalist with over three decades of experience, he has worked at outlets including The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Daily News (Lebanon, PA), and has taught journalism at Temple University, Penn State Harrisburg, and other institutions.

Lear-Olimpi is a media ethicist and active leader in journalism organizations, currently serving as president of the Keystone Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ). He co-advises The Knightly News Media Club at Central Penn College and edits its blog and online student newspaper (www.cpcknightlynews.com). His research and teaching focus on ethical communication practices, digital storytelling, and the intersection of media and societal responsibility.
