Michael Lamb is the F.M. Kirby Foundation Chair of Leadership and Character, Executive Director of Wake Forest University's Program for Leadership and Character, and Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Humanities. His research focuses on virtue ethics, citizenship ethics, and the role of hope in contemporary politics. Lamb holds a Ph.D. in Politics from Princeton University and dual B.A. degrees from Rhodes College and the University of Oxford (as a Rhodes Scholar).

His work bridges ancient political philosophy with modern ethical challenges, particularly in leadership and character education. He has advised universities and political campaigns on character development and civic engagement.
Lamb has received multiple teaching awards including Princeton’s George Kateb Award and Oxford’s Humanities Teaching Excellence Award. He leads a $30M Lilly Endowment grant to develop character education programs across colleges.
