Prof. Dr. Michael Körner serves as Professor and Dean at the Faculty of Interior Design, Architecture and Design (IAD) of Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences, Germany, with continuous service since his 2001 appointment. He concurrently leads the Construction Lab and acts as CAD Lab manager while fulfilling administrative duties as Budget Officer and Faculty Council member.
His academic foundation includes:
- Diploma in Architecture from Technical University of Darmstadt (1993)
- Doctoral studies at Bauhaus University Weimar (1995-2000)
Körner's research and professional focus centers on construction methodologies and structural engineering, with specialized expertise in solid construction techniques. His teaching directly integrates these domains through courses like 'Solid Construction' and 'Advanced Project 2,' while guiding architecture students across all bachelor's semesters in project development and thesis work within interior design and architectural contexts.
He actively supervises bachelor's theses and oversees semester-long architecture projects from foundational (1st-4th) through advanced (5th-8th) stages. Though specific research grants aren't detailed, his laboratory leadership provides critical infrastructure for student experimentation in construction processes and CAD applications.
As Construction Lab head and acting CAD Lab manager, Körner maintains essential facilities where students engage in hands-on structural prototyping, material testing, and digital design workflows central to architectural education.
