Michael Kusluski is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Forensic Science at Pennsylvania State University's Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He holds a BS in Applied Physics from Wayne State University (1992) and an MS in Forensic Sciences from George Washington University (1995). With 16 years of forensic laboratory experience at the Michigan State Police, he became board-certified in Comprehensive Criminalistics and served as a Crime Scene Response Team Leader. He currently collaborates with Image Access LLC to develop forensic scanners for gunshot residue detection and oversees prototype testing at Penn State's Forensic Science program.

His research focuses on forensic technology innovation, including gunshot residue analysis, bloodstain pattern methodologies, and instrumental analysis. He serves as a bloodstain pattern analysis Subject Matter Expert for Forensic Assurance, Inc.
Prior to Penn State, he taught forensic sciences at Wayne State University (adjunct) and Madonna University (full-time), developing courses in Criminalistics, Forensic Chemistry, Toxicology, and Firearms Analysis. He has provided over 3,000 hours of instruction, workshops, and community outreach.
