معرفی
Michael Kramer is Director at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy and Professor at the University of Bonn's Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. His research tests fundamental physics using pulsars and black holes, including landmark experiments probing general relativity with the Double Pulsar system and contributing to the first black hole image.
Professor Kramer leads radio astronomy projects using facilities worldwide to study pulsars, gravitational waves, and black hole physics. His work on the Double Pulsar provided the most precise tests of strong-field gravity to date. As member of the Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration, he contributed to capturing the first image of a black hole shadow in M87. Current projects include tests of gravitational theories and studies of pulsar emission mechanisms.
