Michael Jensen serves as Associate Professor and Program Director in the Department of Medical Illustration at the College of Allied Health Sciences, with secondary appointments in Neurology and Neurosurgery departments at the Medical College of Georgia.

He holds professional certification as a Medical Illustrator (Association of Medical Illustrators, 2010).
Jensen's research integrates neuroscience with visual arts, focusing on neuroanatomical mechanisms of consciousness, thalamic functions in autoscopic phenomena, and historical analysis of animation techniques. His work develops theoretical models of conscious experience through 3D visualization and explores connections between physiological states and emotional processing.
