Michael Huth

Prof. Dr. Michael Huth is a full professor at Fulda University of Applied Sciences, where he has served in the Department of Business since 2006. He specializes in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, leading the master's program in Supply Chain Management since 2009. Previously, he held academic positions at institutions including the University of the Free State (South Africa), Tomas Bata University (Czech Republic), and California State University San Bernardino.

His educational background includes a PhD from Goethe University Frankfurt (2003), where he researched risk management in dangerous goods transportation. He completed studies at Southampton University (UK) during his business administration degree at Goethe University (1990-1995).

Huth's research focuses on supply chain resilience, digital transformation in logistics, risk management frameworks, and sustainable operations. He directs significant projects like Campus FreeCity (modular robotic fleets) and JOINOLOG (Jordan Innovation Center for Logistics). Current investigations examine ESG risks, pandemic-related disruptions, and technology adoption in supply chains. His work consistently addresses both theoretical models and practical industry applications.

Publication analysis reveals three dominant themes: 1) Risk management evolution in global supply chains, especially post-pandemic resilience; 2) Digitalization strategies and technology implementation frameworks; 3) Sustainable logistics integration and ESG compliance. Huth leads multiple externally funded projects including federal initiatives from the German Ministry of Transport and BMBF. He directs the 'HFD at HOLM' research initiative and supervises doctoral candidates through the Doctoral Center Mobility and Logistics. His team includes research associates working on projects like LogRegio and Campus FreeCity.
