Michael Hogue serves as a Senior Research Statistician at the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute and Instructor in the Department of Economics at the University of Utah, specializing in economic policy analysis and advanced statistical modeling.

- Current Master’s in Statistics and Ph.D. in Economics candidate at the University of Utah
Mr. Hogue’s research focuses on energy economics, natural resource valuation, and methodological innovations in small-area estimation. Key projects include economic impact analyses of the University of Utah’s PAC12 athletic conference entry and federal land transfer studies to Utah, utilizing techniques like multivariate small-area estimation with shrinkage covariance matrices and two-tiered domain composite modeling. His work appears in the Utah Economic and Business Review and the institute’s Economic and Statistical Working Paper Series.
