Michael Hall

Michael Hall, MD, is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) School of Medicine. He holds dual roles as Director of the School of Medicine and Associate Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program. His academic career spans over two decades, with appointments progressing from Assistant Professor (2013) to his current Professorship (2022). He received his MD from UMMC in 2005 and a BS in Biology from the University of Mississippi in 1999. His clinical expertise includes cardiology, cardiovascular imaging, and hypertension management, with certifications in Cardiac MRI, CT, and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Hall's research focuses on cardiovascular and renal disease mechanisms, particularly obesity-related comorbidities, hypertension pathophysiology, and heart failure. He leads studies on racial disparities in cardiometabolic outcomes, leveraging large cohorts like the Jackson Heart Study.
