Alan Mouton

Alan Mouton, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC), School of Medicine. He holds expertise in cardiovascular physiology, focusing on myocardial infarction, cardiac remodeling, and macrophage-fibroblast interactions. His research employs surgical heart failure models, echocardiography, and advanced biochemical techniques.

Education: BS in Biochemistry (Louisiana State University, 2011), PhD in Physiology (LSU Health Sciences Center, 2017), Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cardiovascular Physiology (UMMC, 2018). Awards include the 2022 University of Mississippi Excellence in Research Award and multiple American Physiological Society honors.
