معرفی
Michael Gordon is a Researcher at Washington State University (WSU), affiliated with the Vegetable Seed Pathology Program within the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences. He holds a PhD from Oregon State University, where his research focused on RNA-interference-mediated disease resistance in trees and the ecological impacts on foliar microbiomes. His current work integrates field, greenhouse, and laboratory studies to address agricultural challenges in the Pacific Northwest.
Education: PhD in Plant Pathology from Oregon State University (OSU), with a focus on molecular diagnostics and plant-microbe interactions. Mentored by Jared LeBoldus, Steve Strauss, and Posy Busby during his doctoral studies.
Research Interests: Molecular diagnostics for plant pathogens, genetic engineering of disease resistance in crops, microbiome dynamics in agricultural systems, and sustainable seed health management. His work emphasizes translational research with direct applications for growers and consumers.
Labs/Teams: Active contributor to the Vegetable Seed Pathology Program, succeeding Mike Derie. Collaborates across disciplines to advance extension research impacting PNW agriculture.
