Dr. Michael Gilmore is a faculty member at George Mason University's School of Integrative Studies, where he has worked since 2008. His research focuses on the intersection of ethnobiology, biocultural conservation, and sustainable development, with over two decades of experience collaborating with the Maijuna indigenous group in the Peruvian Amazon. He co-teaches the field course Conservation and Sustainability of the Amazon Rainforest and serves as founder/president of the non-profit OnePlanet.
