Dr. Michael Geist is a Full Professor at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law (Common Law Section), Canada Research Chair in Internet and E-Commerce Law, and a member of the Centre for Law, Technology and Society. He specializes in internet law, intellectual property, digital policy, and privacy. His work includes analyzing government policies on digital services taxes, TikTok bans, and lawful access laws. He has been recognized with awards such as the Order of Ontario and EFF Pioneer Award. He holds degrees from Osgoode Hall, Cambridge University, and Columbia Law School.
