Dr. Michael Feld is a leading researcher at the Ubiquitous Media Technology Lab (UMTL), serving as an Associated Member at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) on the Saarland Informatics Campus. His work bridges multimodal dialogue systems, human-robot interaction, and automotive user interfaces, with a focus on adaptive, user-centered technologies.
Research Focus: His interests span natural language interfaces, gaze-based interaction, gestural input, continual machine learning, and mixed reality, particularly in advanced driver assistance systems and robotic grasping. His lab develops systems that adapt to individual users, leveraging multimodal cues for seamless interaction.
Collaborations & Students: He mentors a dynamic team including Niko Kleer, Amr Gomaa, Martin Feick, and others, fostering interdisciplinary projects across robotics, automotive, and AI.
