Michael Ensdorf is a Professor of Photography at Roosevelt University, where he serves as Associate Dean of the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences and Founding Director of the Gage Gallery. He teaches courses in Film/Darkroom Photography, iPhoneography, Documentary Photography, and Photobook History and Practice within the Department of Humanities, focusing on the intersection of traditional and digital photographic techniques. His work has been featured in international exhibitions such as Iterations at the International Center of Photography (New York) and Photography after Photography (touring Europe and the U.S.), with publications in books by MIT Press and G+B Arts.

Ensdorf's research explores the democratization of visual storytelling through iPhoneography, the evolution of documentary photography, and the cultural impact of photobooks. He has played a pivotal role in developing Roosevelt University's Journalism and Media Studies program and the Bachelor’s in Digital & Multimedia Communications. His office hours for Fall 2025 are Tuesdays/Thursdays 11am–3pm, Wednesdays Noon–2pm, in AUD 364, with appointments available via email at mensdorf@roosevelt.edu.
