Michael E. Flatté is a Full Professor at the University of Iowa and holds a part-time professorship in Photonics and Semiconductor Nanophysics at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on quantum coherent systems, particularly spin dynamics in semiconductors, quantum sensing, and quantum computation. He has been affiliated with the Quantum Information Science and Engineering Network (QISE-NET) and collaborates with industry partners like QuantCAD LLC and Sandia National Laboratories.
Education:
- PhD in Physics from the University of California, Santa Barbara (1992), advised by Walter Kohn (Nobel Laureate in Chemistry)
- Postdoctoral research at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics (UCSB) and Harvard University
