Dr. Michael E. Evans is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Marine and Coastal Environmental Science at Texas A&M University and NASA Planetary Scientist. He holds a PhD in Oceanography/Geochemistry from Texas A&M (2017), JD in Intellectual Property Law from University of Houston (1999), MS in Space Science from UH-Clear Lake (1989), and BS in Petroleum Engineering from University of Tulsa (1982).
His interdisciplinary research bridges oceanography, planetary geology, and space technology development. Current projects include Titan exploration technologies, Mars climate reconstruction through meteorite analysis, and lunar energy storage systems. Combines engineering expertise with scientific research on planetary surfaces.
Dr. Evans teaches undergraduate laboratories and lectures in chemistry, oceanography, and planetary geology. His NASA career includes work on Space Shuttle and Space Station programs. Recognized with AGU's Outstanding Student Paper Award for Mars carbonate research.
