Dr Michael Drolet is a Senior Research Fellow in the History of Political Thought at Worcester College, University of Oxford. His work bridges intellectual history with political, social, and economic thought, focusing on 18th–20th century French philosophy and its intersections with science, technology, and environmental history.
- Research spans French liberalism, Romantic Socialism, and contemporary French thought.
- Interests include the political contestation of knowledge, industrialization's environmental impact, and the role of science-technology in historical contexts.
His recent publications explore the economic and political thought of figures like Jules Leroux, Pierre Leroux, and Michel Chevalier, reflecting trends in interdisciplinary analysis of early modern knowledge systems and their societal implications.
He co-organizes the Encyclopédie Nouvelle Project, examining the interplay between science, social practices, and political ideologies, and is affiliated with the University of Oxford's Centre for Intellectual History.
