Michael Dolton is a Senior Lecturer (Teaching Focussed) in the Department of Geography at Royal Holloway, University of London. He specializes in urban policy, sustainability, and citizen engagement in local policymaking. As Director of the MSc in Sustainability and Management (joint with the School of Management), he oversees the program and teaches modules including GG5403 Dissertation, GG5012 Key Concepts in Justice, Development and Sustainability, and GG5020 Research Methods for Social Science. He also teaches a third-year undergraduate course on Regeneration and Urban Policy, exploring UK regeneration trends, and contributes to GG1032 Geographical Research & Field Training.
His research focuses on urban sustainability and displacement studies, as evidenced by co-authorship of the 2020 Handbook of Displacement. He is the Geography Department's Wellbeing Lead, managing welfare and learning disability support.
