Michael Böwer

Prof. Dr. Michael Böwer is a full-time Professor of Theories and Methods of Social Work at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences, focusing on child-related action fields. He holds roles in academic governance, including Deputy Chair of the Study Commission, Chair of the Examination Board, and Module Coordinator for key courses like 'Theories, History & Methods of Social Work' and 'Case-Oriented Social Work'.

His education spans a Diplom in Social and Organizational Pedagogy from Hildesheim University (2002), followed by a PhD on 'Kindeswohlschutz organisieren' (2012). Prior to academia, he worked as a social worker in child welfare (2001–2011) and held leadership roles in social pedagogical institutions.
