Michael Bermudez

Michael Bermudez, EdD, OTR is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, focusing on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into occupational therapy research and education. He actively contributes to academic conferences and serves as an incoming member of the Roster of Accreditation Evaluators for ACOTE (2025-2028).

• Research Focus: Development of AI and machine learning tools for occupational therapy assessments and rehabilitation outcomes prediction, alongside adaptive technology for people with disabilities using circuit boards and coding.
• Conference Presentations: AOTA INSPIRE 2024 Annual Conference (Orlando, FL), First European Occupational Therapy Congress (Krakow, Poland), Texas Occupational Therapy Association Conference (Frisco, TX), and the JFK Distinguished Lectureship (Columbia University, 2025).
